Chapter 10 - Registered Users

INTRODUCTION

The Registered Users section of the RealTimeDesigner allows end users to create an account where all their original artwork and created designs will be made available for future use.

ACTIVATING THE REGISTERED USERS MODULE

To enable the Registered Users module select REGISTERED USERS > ENABLE REGISTERED USERS > YES Click on image to enlarge If you do not enable Registered Users or if the end user chooses not to register, they will not be able to retrieve previous work on future sessions. Click on image to enlarge

SEARCHING USERS AND DESIGNS

Occasionally you will need to access a Registered Users account to assist them. To view their account go to REGISTERED USERS > MANAGE REGISTERED USERS. A screen will appear that will allow you to enter filter criteria for the either login name, email, date or design ID assigned when they saved their design.

SEARCHING FOR REGISTERED USERS

After you enter filter criteria and click on the SEARCH button, a list of the Registered Users matching that criteria will be displayed. If no Registered Users are found matching you filter criteria, try using more generic data like “JONES” instead of “THOMAS JONES” - the user may have registered as “TOM JONES” instead. If the list is quite long, try searching for more specific filter criteria.Click on image to enlarge Be sure to notice that the search results are displayed in pages of 30 matches per page. You may have to use the GO TO PAGE pull down to see more than one page of matches.

VIEWING THUMBNAILS

When present, click the VIEW THUMBS button next to the users name to see their clip art and completed designs. When user designs are present, you can click on the thumbnail of the design to open that design in the designer, being logged in as that person. You can then make changes ….

FOR ALEX……………….
CAN I PUSH THAT DESING TO THE CUSTOMER?
WHY HAVE BE HIM… DESIGN ALLOWS DESIGN AS HIM.

CREATE NEW USER

For inquiries that don't originate on the web, you may find that it is beneficial to set up a user account for a new client, create a design for him, and allow him to proof and/or edit the design. You can then send him the link to the design……..

UNSUBMITTED DESIGNS

By monitoring registered users, you can find new designs which were saved by the user but not submitted as orders. From the Admin Panel, select “Manage Registered Users”. Put a date in the FILTER box - “2011-07” for example to see all user designs for JULY 2011. Sort by LAST ACCESS 102 DATE. From the list that is displayed, you can see all user activity for the month. Looking through this list you may see users who designed products but didn't submit their order. You can then contact these users to close the sale.

To make images of the design linkable: <a href=”[SIDES_IMAGE_JPG]” target=“_blank” >Click Here to View Design</a><br>
Also, can I make the images the same size as the images in send to friend emails? These images are way larger than that.
. Alex will need to answer that one. I haven't noticed they were a different size. Just use HTML and force a size. For example: <a href=”[SIDES_IMAGE_JPG]” width=300 target=“_blank” >Click Here to View Design</a><br> This will proportionally re-size the image to a width of 300 (which should be the very same thing dome in “email to friend”) Here's how we do this, and the reason we posted this previous message on this forum: click here to view forum discussion Once signed in, a customer can load a previous order in the designer, make changes (if desired) and then add the item to the cart and check out. This is how the feature is working right now because I just tested it. But, I could swear that in the past the previous order would not allow you to add to cart again. This is great! When Alex gets this feature as discussed in that post completed then customer can also link directly to “Saved Designs” without having to find a way to get into the designer and use the “Save/Load” button. If a customer is not a registered user then they will need to become registered and sign in before fully using these features. I like it that we can use the “Manage Registered Users” in Admin and register a customer, assign their passwords and “be him (or her)” to provide excellent customer service. We use this feature often to manipulate customers orders. If I'm understanding your issues, then there is a very robust solution. Your customers need to register to create an account, which in your scenario above it sounds like they have done so and saved a design which you don't know about. By the way, if you enable immediate account creation for registered users, they will immediately be registered and make their own password when using the save design button. This is VERY helpful. That feature is off by default. Customer saves their design and calls you. You just enter their account through “manage registered users” by clicking “be him”. Open the designer and load their design using the saved designs button. You can make changes and save it again and customer can then see and load the newly added design using the saved designs button. This works very fast once you get the hang of it. We do it with customers over the phone often. Another solution is to use LivePerson where you can actually share the browsing experience.
