Alex... Bravo! LOVE it. I do like the dropdown better than the slider for choosing font size. Also love the way the bbox expands from the center out when changing font size. Question: can the bbox also expand from the center out when a user is typing into the text area? The auto-update still expands the bbox from left-top while typing. Does this make sense? Merry Christmas to you as well, Alex! And thank you for your input, cos, it helps greatly. I'll have time today to go back and try the link again. will post soon. =) Gregby candycartons - General Discussion
Ok. Another thought before I keep reading: Perhaps a "Convert to Art/Curves" button for people who need to stretch/resize text using handles. While this would be of little use to my customers, perhaps it would be a better way for others who want both worlds of better text handling AND text resizing/stretching.by candycartons - General Discussion
Hi Alex! Just getting into reading your indepth responses. You Wrote: **** Main drawbacks are only 2: 1) in this way, text can only be proportional: no stretch/squeeze can be allowed 2) the size of the text can no more be defined by dragging arrows, but only by defining the font size. Alex, please don't feel like I need a long explanation. I know your time is more valuable than spending it describing why or why not something can be implemented. A yes or no will be fine with me. If the answer is no, I trust that there is a very good reason why. I feel bad enough already with all these posts =(. Gregby candycartons - General Discussion

One other thing that I find interesting. I've had a significant number of responders say the following: 1. Pre-placed fields are very helpful. I wouldn't want to take the time to figure out where to put something. The layouts you have now are perfect. 2. With the way it is now, it's easy enough that you really don't need to save it. Hi Alex! It wasn't a totally blank RTD product, it had the xmas backgrounds, just no suggested pre-placed fields. Basically, I was considering offering just the backgrounds to see if my customers would still be happy placing their own fields on top of an attractive background. It would save me a lot of time if all I had to do was come up with great looking themes and let them place the elements.by candycartons - General Discussion
Is there a solution though, if we have 2 different text elements, with the font size being different in each element? Obviously I can't resize the text placeholder without setting the bbox. Greg Beckemeier The Candy Box Guy (636) 542-8560by candycartons - Howto and Tutorials

Sara Colby 10:40 AM (1 minute ago) to me Hi Greg, I am not afraid of designing myself at all. In fact I kinda like that idea because we have different regulations for text size ect that we need to adhere to. Maybe you could just always have “ideas” on your site so people have a vision of what a box could look like? Hope this helps, Sara Colby Hostetter Realtyby candycartons - General Discussion
1. How important are pre-placed fields to you? Very important. This was one of the features that attracted me to the Candy Box. Please keep this feature in place. 2. How important is it to you to be able to save your designs for later editing/re-ordering? Very important. It saves time in my busy schedule. Miguelby candycartons - General Discussion
Hello Greg I'm all for easy!!! I'm not a graphics designer nor do I want to be. It would be nice to save the design but it's not necessary. When I was doing my boxes, I "lost" them but came right back in and had no problems. Hope this helps. 1,000,000% agree, the pre-placed stuff is your bread and butter. I know design and I don't mind doing the whole thing myself. In fact, I'd prefer it. But MOST people you're targeting are not marketers and designers & would have a tough time coming up with any words or designs. Appeal to the masses & keep it the way it is. I love the new box designs but it looks like it will be more difficult to design the boxes without the pre-determined templates and it may not come out with the text even. Regards, Mark S. I figured I'd pass on what my customers are saying in response to the following email I just sent to 1,000+ clients this morning. The reason I reached out to my userbase is that I recently had it suggested to me that people would rather start with a background with no preplaced fields. I will post each customers response in followups. Here is the email I sent: If you have a quick moment,by candycartons - General Discussion
Let's say you have a 3 line, mulitiline text element. I notice that if you place your cursor in line one and edit it, then pause to watch the update initiate on the canvas, that the cursor then moves to the end of the final line rather than remaining where you had left it originally. This will lead to customers making text edits and then getting confused/frustrated when they pause to watch theby candycartons - General Discussion
Update: Here is a link to another vendor I was considering before making the commitment to RTD. Notice how the text fields are handled. This is exactly what I need. I understand that once a text element is re-sized that the bound box is then "set." So, when that text is subsequently edited, it will squish if one of the lines is too long (longer than the longest line in the original text), or stretch if one of the lines is shorter than the longest line in the original text, all in order to mash the text into the set bonding box. My customers will never be designing on a blank white background. They will be designing on top of a graphical background (see attached sample). I realize now that the product-level background is not the way to go since it is not included in the production file, and was more a feature to allow a sample t-shirt or mug to be behind the design area.
