Changing inches to feet

Hello,

Is there any way to change inches to feet for the sizing options in the drop down menus (for width and height) of the designer?

Thanks

Yup!

In PRODUCT OPTIONS => Configure Products => [your product] => Configure Generator.
One of the entries there is Your Unit Measure, giving options for inches, millimeters, centimeters, feet and meters.
However, not that thi will just change the display: if you will change from inches to feet, this will NOT change your numbers, just the unit wording.

A note of caution too. Changing inches to feet will change how the raster (png, jpeg) hires generation output does it's work. Hires raster generation has options to set ppi value and Scale ratio. The default setting, somewhere around 40 to 72 ppi (I guess Alex has a more accurate explanation on that), may not produce satisfactory results for your purposes. Changing inches to feet may require you to increase the ppi on each generation to very high numbers, 300 to 600, to produce enough pixels for satisfactory results. And, you may find that the image will need to be scaled and resampled in an image editor to a usable size to get satisfactory results. Those producing the hires files will need to be careful about generating the files. A few more variations and added steps to the process can really effect productivity and increase the probability of mistakes.

In other words:
A 60x36 inch sign at 72 ppi hires png or jpeg generation artwork will be 60x36 inches 72 ppi physical size if opened in an image editor.
A 5x3 foot sign at 72 pip png or jpeg hires generation artwork will be 5x3 inches 72 ppi physical size if opened in an image editor.

Hi res vector generation is not affected.

Just thought this may help you. I would do some testing first to see if it suits your work flow.
