Most of you who use templates are aware that when text is edited, the new text fills the same bounding box as the original text itme. This results in text being stretched or squeezed when the text string length changes.
RTD also has the ability to allow your product template text to keep its same proportions thus changing the bounding box size. Here's the steps to utilize this feature:
1. Design your template as you would any other RTD design except use text strings that are very long. i.e. Instead of entering JOHN DOE enter JOHN DOEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX so that the X's act as place holders, taking up the amount of space you wish to allow as the maximum for that template.
2. Activate the SHOW ADMIN OPTIONS > PROPORTIONAL TEXT feature
3. Select the appropriate justification
4. Disable the SHOW ADMIN OPTIONS > MOVE AND RESIZE options
5. Close the SHOW ADMIN OPTIONS window
6. Edit the text string, removing the X place holders
7. Repeat as necessary to complete the design
8. Save the design to the cart and select any quantity
9. From the CART, click SAVE AS PRODUCT TEMPLATE
10. Users will then see the expected results when they modify the template
