Using CSV to populate a variable field
March 20, 2018 09:19AM
In Realtime Designer is there away to upload a csv list to populate a variable field with step and repeat functionality, similar to InDesign. Please review the attached file as an example.

In the example the CSV list will contain the numbers (3276,3310,3344,3378,3412,3446). InDesign reads the csv and put the data from the csv into a defined variable on to the image. Does Realtime Designer have this functionality?

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, we were pretty busy in these days because of meetings and visit to the ISA show.
The closest thing you can do in RTD is Text Personalization, which allows to set variable fields. It had been introduced here:

What I am not understanding here though is if you're asking for ways for customer to upload such files, or for you (IE, meant to generate print files with the variations).
The answer is still no actually (that system is not based off of CSV files), but makes a difference in thinking at possible alternatives, such as API-based generation tools for variable data printing
